Shellback Marines Security Audit — Private University Campus, West Bengal

A private university in West Bengal with over 4,000 students and staff required an independent security audit ahead of a significant infrastructure expansion. The institution had experienced several incidents of unauthorised access, petty theft, and a serious late-night incident in a car park — but had no independent assessment of their security posture to inform their investment decisions.

Shellback Marines conducted a two-day on-site survey covering all 14 buildings, the external perimeter, four car parks, and all guard posts. We observed guard patrols, tested access control points, assessed CCTV coverage blind spots, and reviewed all security policies and post instructions. The resulting report identified 11 critical findings and 9 recommendations. Following the audit, the university commissioned Shellback Marines to implement six of the priority recommendations, including a CCTV upgrade and revised guard post instructions. No further incidents have been recorded in the 12 months since implementation.
